In addition to the Juneau Symphony, we currently run these programs to support our mission:

The Juneau Student Symphony (JSS) : A full size orchestra for students of all ages. Members range from middle school aged through adult; the program focuses on developing musicianship and the joy of making music together. The JSS performs a Fall concert series and a Spring concert series. The JSS was an independent organization in the 1980s and has been a Juneau Symphony program since 1988. JSS musicians pay tuition to participate.

The Juneau Symphony Chorus:  An adult, volunteer chorus that joins the orchestra annually to perform large choral works. Performances have included Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (Spring 2012), Mozart’s Requiem (Spring 2013), and in January 2018 Requiem by Faure. Singers enroll without auditions and pay a fee to participate.

Music in the Schools: An annual interactive concert for all 5th grade students in the Juneau School District. This concert is produced in partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program.

Kids2Concerts:  Complimentary Symphony concert tickets are provided to schools in the Juneau School District and to members of the Juneau Student Symphony.

Youth Solo Competition (YSC):  A concerto competition open to all of Southeast Alaska’s young musicians.
