Hospitality Club

The Juneau Symphony is delighted to host visiting musicians who perform side-by-side with local musicians in all of our mainstage concerts. These visitors come from all over the west coast, principally Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and California. They are generally delightful people who love to learn about Juneau and share their love of music with us. It is a privilege to host them! Hospitality Club members help out by providing needed services for visiting musicians. As a thank-you, members receive a free concert ticket.

For starters, our visiting musicians all need places to stay. They are generally fun, interesting people who are a joy to host. The minimum requirement to host a musician is that you are able to provide a private bedroom, a shared bathroom, and access to a kitchen. It is easiest for our musicians if you are located downtown or in Douglas, but sometimes visitors stay in the Valley, especially if you have a car available for their use.

If you cannot host a musician, here are some other ways to help:

  • Pick musicians up at the airport and deliver them to their hosts.
  • Drive a musician to a presentation at a school. You will stay for the presentation (always interesting!) and then take them back again.
  • Take musicians on a sightseeing tour. Show them the glacier, Perseverance trail, or your favorite secret destination!

If you can perform any of these services, please contact us and we’ll sign you up for Hospitality Club. We will then figure out what our musicians need and match you up! Thank you so much.
