Troy Quinn Named Music Director

tinyTroyThe Juneau Symphony proudly introduces its new music director and conductor, Dr. Troy Quinn!

This selection is the culmination of a two-year long search to replace former music director Kyle Wylie Pickett. Troy was selected from over 60 applicants from all over the US. For the past year, Juneau has been enjoying concerts directed by Troy and the other excellent finalists, Dr. Wesley Schulz and Dr. Jeremy Briggs Roberts. Last month, a vote of the musicians and board members resulted in the selection of Troy Quinn.

Troy has planned an exciting first season as the new conductor with programmed works such as Dvorak’s New World Symphony, Brahms’ 4th Symphony, Vaughn Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem featuring the Juneau Symphony Chorus, and a tribute to the film score for the summer pops!

We at the Symphony would like to extend thanks to all who supported and participated in this process. We certainly could not have accomplished such a task without your help! We would also like to thank the Juneau Empire, KTOO and Juneau Radio Center for coverage of our announcement.

We look forward to beginning a new legacy of symphonic music at its best!
