Thanks to the Juneau Empire for a great story on this year’s concert here!
Every year, the Juneau Symphony presents a school concert for fifth grade students in the district. We collaborate with the Carnegie Hall Link-Up program and the Kennedy Center’s Any Given Child initiative to provide our annual concert at Juneau Douglas High School Auditorium. Our symphony musicians present an engaging and interactive concert with students in the audience singing and playing along with the orchestra. The auditorium is filled with the sounds of recorders, guitars, violins and singing from the students who have learned the music ahead of time with their music teachers.
There is no fee for students or teachers to participate. We want to thank First Students for providing transportation for the 5th graders from their schools to the concert. To learn more, contact the symphony office at 586-4676.
