Juneau Symphony Foundation

Endowment Fund

Play your part to support the Juneau Symphony of today and tomorrow!

For more than 60 years the Juneau Symphony has been an integral part of our community and has helped make Juneau a great place to live. The Symphony receives just one-third of its annual revenues from event ticket sales so we rely on donations large and small to provide high quality performances and reach more people in our community, including youth and families.

Endowment fund donations to the Juneau Symphony Foundation ensure the Juneau Symphony is sustainable, affordable, resilient and able to innovate and grow, providing supplemental funding each year for the operations of the Symphony.

Your gift enables live performances of beloved classics to new works for the enjoyment of our community now and into the future and provides resources to assist our youth programs, ensuring a bright future for orchestral music in our community for years to come.

The Juneau Symphony Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, created in 2000 with its own board of trustees as an endowment fund.

The fund can receive donations through:

  • Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)  from donor retirement accounts
  • Gifting of appreciated stocks, bonds, and mutual funds
  • Donor advised funds
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Bequeaths from wills or revocable living trusts
  • Donations to biannual matching endowment campaigns

Ways to Give

There are many ways to help advance the mission of the Juneau Symphony.

Gifts of Cash

Donations can be made via check made payable to “Juneau Symphony Foundation”, credit card, mail or in person. You can also give from your Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend through Pick. Click. Give.

IRA Charitable Donations and Donor-Advised Funds

Donating directly from your IRA is both a convenient and tax-wise way to support the Symphony. For those who must take a Required Minimum Distribution from an IRA, a Qualified Charitable Distribution can be made directly from (and through) your IRA custodian to a a qualified charity of your choice. Talk with your financial advisor and IRA administrator for more detailed information.

Employer Matching Gifts

Double the impact of your donation with a matching gift! Your employer may have a program matching the contributions their employees make. Contact your Human Resources representative for specific information on your company’s matching gift program.

Bequests and Non-Monetary Gifts

Gifts can be made in your will, revokable living trust, life insurance policy, or as a “percentage remainder” from an estate. We encourage you to talk with your tax advisor or attorney about your specific situation.

Giving to the Juneau Symphony Foundation will keep the music coming for future generations of music enthusiasts.

Gifts to the Juneau Symphony Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Juneau Symphony Foundation is a tax-exempt qualified section 501(c)(3) organization in accordance with Internal Revenue Regulations – Federal Tax ID number 92-0177037.
